The sequel is just as fun as the original.

I rememeber watching the first movie in the nineties and loved it to bits. I still feel nostalgic about it. Although I have watched the second one before, I still get the feels from the sequel like I did from the first one.

The music is playing right now and I can remember watching this as a child I think I'll give the first movie a viewing again. I remmeber when Shadow and Sassy said goodbye to the strays and thinking that they will never see each other again.

Great family movies.

I completely agree. There are some sequels that are just perfect, and follow the original beautifully...this is one of those. I can't even watch the first without wanting to put this one on right afterward. The human cast, writers, director, and animal actors put nothing less into the sequel than the first had. I adore the soundtrack, Riley's diverse gang, and various very, very touching, funny, and/or memorable scenes.

Not only is it just as good but there are aspects that make it more fun for instance there are more dogs, a romantic plot involving Chance, and actual villains both human and dog.

This one is a little more lighthearted than the first which I think is a good thing.

It has it's fun moments but overall not at all close to being as good as the first one (which was great).

One thing I didn't like was that they made the dogs know human language, in the first they only knew certain keywords that they had been taught other than that they only went by expressions of the humans.

And Shadow who was such an endearing character in the first just isn't the same in the voice of this replacement actor. And also the 'acting' from the gang was alot better in the first, better trained animals in that one. And the ending was more or less a repeat of the first but not at all emotional (due to Jamie being a dick in this one).

It's still okay though, but going from a great movie to a okay movie is still a big step down.
