but if I had been in the children's shoes I would have taken my chances with the grandmother instead of staying with the second cousin or whoever she was......lol.

Sorry, didn't sound like that in your first post....the cousin was a fruitcake...good thing they had the good sense to leave

They did but remember until the met the cousin they were not even aware of the grandmother.

If you don't have much to begin with, then you don't have much to lose.
