Shouldn't ask but...

Who does she end up with? Worried I might not catch this movie this week and who knows if I'd ever get to watch it. But saw trailer and need to find out.

Don't bother. It doesn't hold a candle to the original with Robert Mitchum and Janet Leigh. Filmed in B&W and taking place in the '50s makes the original worth being viewed every Christmas, as I do. It's always shown on TCM or another of the basic cable movie channels.

So does that mean u don't know the answer or what? Sorry but that was a bit confusing especially since I did not see original.

That is like me telling someone about the movie Christmas Carol and my version could not be that of original nor last one but one in between (meaning diff versions are not all the same).

Do you really want to know the answer without seeing the many things that lead up to it? I personally would not want to know. It's crucial to watch the buildup so as to understand why she makes the final decision. I will tell you if you wish...

May as well tell me seeing that I missed it anyways ~ which always seem to happen when it comes to movies on Lifetime. I don't have a guide on my TV (well I do but doesn't seem to work with the cable we have). Roommate has all the hook up and frankly I dare not touch the main TV.

Curious to know since seeing previews it looks as if she would go for Steve but rather see her with Tom Irwin (not sure but that actor just carries himself like a gentleman).

Oh yeah I know its late but Happy Holidays

reply

Yeah, she goes for Steve - at the very last minute. But do yourself a favor and get ahold of a copy of the original, or watch for it on the basic cable movie channels (TMC). It's far, far better. The ending in the new one is just AWFUL. It has nothing in common with the original except a train.

Happy New Year!

Thanks hopefully both will show up on TV for me again. Just will have to add it to my calendar this time

The original is on now. I LOVE the original. And what's so strange is that I saw the remake years ago, not aware that it was a remake of anything....I had never heard of ir seen the Mitchum-Leigh version until just about two years ago.

I haven't seen the remake for about eight years or so. I liked it, but, it doesn't hold a candle to the original. I LOVE most B/W films from the 40's through the mid 60's.
