Widescreen Version on DVD? Where?

I love this movie but want it in widescreen format -- all I can find it in is standard format. Does anyone know where I can buy a legitimate copy of it in WS format?

Thanks,

Same here! Sony is crap when it comes to widescreen releases. I'll buy it the day it comes out too, Art.

I think Amazon has a 1.85:1 version. I'm about to look and possibly you could do the same...

THanks!

There's one coming out on 7 November, 2005.

Region 4 is apparently in 1.85:1 Widescreen and was released on the 16th of November.

I watched the Region 4 Australia dvd of HIGH SCHOOL HIGH recently and I can confirm that the aspect ratio is at 1.85:1 Widescreen.

It is available on a two sided disc, region 1. See the picture, the cover on left is the full screen and the cover on right is the two side disc that has the wide screen version.

If I've never seen it before, it's a new release to me!

Mmmm...

I bought the one I have when it first came out, I believe sometime in 1998.

It's a REGION 1/NTSC, 2 sided DVD (single layer on both sides), and has booth FULLSCREEN & WIDESCREEN. Has Dolby 2.0 & 5.1 audio.

Has a picture of lovitz on the front w/ a huge fro, and an apple with the word help written on their, and a bullet flying through it. 4 other characters are in the background.

On the lower left hand corner on the back of the box it says "Copyright 1998 Layout and Design Columbia TriStar Home Video".

Only way I think you can get a legit US REGION 1 WS, is through Ebay, I looked on Amazon, only one sold there is FS.

If you're in Europe, try checking out big retailers, like SATURN, I found some really cool stuff there, that you can't find in the US, and I'm talking about US Movies to begin with!

Why would the US release older & harder to find US movies in Europe & not in the US?

Because a lot of what the US does is retarded... Iraq war anyone? It's not just the government. The music and movie industry think that their demographic research actually means something -- so they'll release good stuff (like this movie) in Europe since you guys have taste, and leave us the crud.

I still want this movie, and I still want it on widescreen. I just need to do some eBay sleuthing one day and place a bid. But damn! A movie this great should come in a special edition!
