In that last scenes Harvey Keitel drinks methanol and complains that he cannot see(right enough but maybe a bit too quick, I am not sure about that). Through some misadventure he falls into a net and into the sea.
The next scene with Harvey is of him screaming while he watches the mast fall on top of him.
Just watched it. Harvey falls into the net which is anchored to the jetty, and is lying on it while Cameron manages to start a chain saw in an attempt to free herself. It gets away, spins around, cuts a supporting column of the gazebo on the dock. The gazebo flips over into the sea. It's not a mast but a decorative "spike" projecting from the roof of the gazebo, which has flipped over as it falls into the sea and into Harvey.
But karloski's point is that George is crying out that he can't see, and then watches the mast/gazebo point falling toward him, and he's screaming. He can't see?
In the Norwegian version the characters vision starts to get blurry (in that version he had been drinking for most of the day). He could see something, but only outlines.
