This may very well be the worst movie I've ever seen

It is the only movie I've ever walked out of a theatre in my entire life.

How old were you then? It is a Nickelodeon feature, for cryin' out loud. It is a movie FOR younr, really young, people. If you were an adult back then, well, that night be the reason why you found it bad. Also, if you walked out of the theatre, you might have missed the real deal of the movie.

It must of made some impression on you if you were able to post this!
Personally I found it intriguing and unique as being told from a child's perspective.
I rather found it refreshing!

well i dunno really... but this movie i think is one of my favourites, i like the characters, and the story is really good, hope i'm not the only one that thinks that!

This was my favourite movie in the fifth grade. So, if a young girl loved it, and it was aimed at young girls, then I think it was successful.

She's hell on the old skins you know.-Spike
Religions for fools eh? Fools and LIBERALS!- Scudworth

I thought it was nice when I saw it back in 1996. Has anyone read the book? If so, then how did it match up to the movie?

reply

its kind of faithful to the book, but they exagerrated some things and made it more nineties. the book was written to take place in the fifties or sixties, i think.

Madonna and HP forever.
Theatre is life, the rest is just rehersal

The Book is one of my favorites. My copy is from 1967-ish, and its more beat-up then the basement couch. It copared rather well with the movie, the only huge difference is that Ole Golly visits her mother in the book, and that Harriet never saw Ole Golly again that we know of. She gets a letter from her from Montreal.
