Why would Shooter give Happy the house back?

He's a total douche and had no reason to honor that bet.

reply

That is movie law man. A bet is a bet man!

reply

Because it was a movie, a Adam Sandler movie might I add that always has a happy ending.

reply

Because Jaws would have beat his ass even more if he didn't.

reply

I don't remember any sharks in this movie!

(before you say anything, yeah, I know. James Bond)

He didn't care about the money. If giving Happy the house got him off the tour it was well worth it. If he reneged, Happy would have rejoined the tour to bust his balls.

reply

You seem to be referring to the offer Shooter made to Happy to give him the house if he drops out of the tour. The OP is referring to after Happy wins the gold jacket, why at that point would Shooter honor the bet and give Happy the house back (the bet was if Happy wins he gets the house and if Shooter wins Happy is off the tour).

reply

Ah...

Maybe Shooter wouldn't, but if public perception means anything to him, having the reigning Gold Jacket winner tell of Shooter's reneging on his promise to return an old lady's house in interviews wouldn't sit too well with him.

Maybe the sequel..
