Prequel and Y+D part 1 differences

Since no one is posting at the Y&D Prequel board I'll try here:
In Y&D part 1 Nam says that Bee has been his boss since he was 14, and the little scene on the football ground is dated 1985, but in the prequel the football incident is dated 1989.
Also, in Part 1 the gang consists of 5 guys, Nam, Chicken, the Pan brothers and some other guy. Who is this guy?

Any ideas on the changes?

The reason why they're 14 in the original and 17 in the prequel, is because the director couldn't find any good child actors to play rascals. But mainly because in Hong Kong - a movie with children in a movie being rascals doing crazy criminal activities would be too offensive for the audience and nobody would watch the movie then. It's not like the west you know. So the director changed the story a bit so Nicholas Tse, who was 18 at the time and very popular with the girl audience in China, could play Ho Nam at the age of 17 since Tse was the director's main choice for Ho Nam 'cause he thought that Tse and Cheng (the original Ho Nam) had the similar "stairing" look that identifies Ho Nam.

The other part of your question, I have doubted myself. The origial consisted Ho Nam, Chicken, Chau Pei, Pau Pei and Tai Tin Yi.
In the prequel Tai Tin Yi is suddenly gone for no reason? I also wonder why.

But the "other guy" that you're reffering to is Big Head. This is the guy you see in part 5 and 6. If you watch them, you'll know who I mean. This prequel is made right after part 5 was made. At this time the part of Big Head was very popular. The director then thought: "Why not include the Big Head character in the prequel, to make the movie more interesting".

I hope I answered some of your doubts.

Thanks, you cleared up some of my questions.

As for Big Head, I know he is Daniel Wu and I wondered where he was in the original (as I only know 1-3 I didn't know he's in the later ones). Now it seems I have to get parts 4-6 as well...
Also I didn't know that the part was tailored to suit Nic Tse. But he was amazing in that role! I love his acting in this movie the best!

Thanks again!

Isn't the reason for Big Head being in part 5 and in the sequel because he had gone to jail and would have been for the first 4 parts of the story?
