Rolanda Watts

Not sure if anyone remembers African American talk show host Rolanda Watts - but I was watching this movie just now on Encore - and I thought - hey! it's that talk show host from the '80s / '90s ... What was her name?!!!

I was bored enough - and looking for ANYTHING to distract me from the actual stuff I need to do (work, laundry, Sunday dinner prep, etc.)

So . . .

I googled - and googled - and FINALLY found the chick who's name I couldn't think of. I cannot believe the lady who played the newscaster (reporting on story of little girl who died in elevator shaft) was not the same person.

Apparently - the actress was some chick named Carol Jenkins. They could be identical twins - voices and everything. I'm still thinking it's some sort of inaccuracy.

And where are Halle Berry and my future husband, Mr. Mekhi Phifer. I don't even remember their voice. (And I watched this a million times because of the Prince soundtrack.

Any way . . . I'm rambling . . . blame it on the 4 glasses of wine and Nyquil gel caps . . . :-)

here are pics:

Also - thought the bereaved Mom was a dead ringer for Toni Braxton.

Well, that is Rolanda Watts and IDK where you read that it wasn't but it was an inaccuracy. Also, Halle Berry was interviewed, on the news, by Rolanda Watts. I think that the little girl was a fan of Berry's and wanted to meet her, sort of like The make a wish foundation. As far as Mekhi Phifer, I didn't remember seeing him at all.

If you click on the full cast - and scroll down it says
"Mekhi Phifer Himself (cameo) (uncredited)"

And you're right about Rolanda Watts. My apologies!

Initially - I thought her character was Newscaster Carol, but apparently her character was Reporter Nita.

That just means he wasn't credited on the ending credits. Doesn't mean he wasn't in the movie.
