mistake about the gun


during the third trial, the orginal owner of the rifle was asked if he traded the Enfield 1917 30.06 rifle to De La Beckwith.
*The actual murder weapon was a Enfield 1917 .303 rifle.

Probably meaningless to point out, but oh well.

You're slightly confused about the term .30-06, you've probably since realized your error but just in case I'll explain it. A .30-06 is a .303 caliber U.S. Army rifle cartridge designed in 1906 for the Springfield rifle. It was used by the U.S. military up until the 70's and is still in use by private owners today. So the two terms you referenced are indeed synonymous. the Enfield 1917 .303 used a .30-06 cartridge.
