He just got better with age...I loved him in "12 Angry Men" too. (The 1997 version.)

shareI really miss the guy too. He was amazing in this film as well as 12 Angry Men. Just a seriously underrated actor. Both he & Dutton were amazing in this film.

Ossie performance was outstanding and he deserved more recognition. Yes, he was an underrated actor.
shareDavis was also a pioneer when it came to film directing. Unfortunately, he was unable to sustain that part of his career, unlike Spike. Check out COTTON COMES TO HARLEM and BLACK GIRL.

Love Davis. I noticed him very late in his career as well. This movie (GET ON THE BUS ) and BUBBA HO TEP are two of my favs.
He fills everything with warmth, humor and humanity. He'll really be missed.
