Is the violence in this film one of the reasons for America's decline?


This was just on TV. During the part when the guy stabs the other guy in the bar, I looked over to my wife and she said, "This is what's wrong with America."

I nodded, not in agreement, but in a non-committal way. Then we continued watching it. She then got up and said she was going to take a shower. I nodded again.

Was her going to take a shower a sign that she wanted to wash off this movie's violence?

Does anyone agree about this being America's problem? Disagree? Thoughts? IMO's?
