The version of DFTR in this films is by some alt rock band, I forget there name. It clearly states in the credits who it is. And it isn't MJF! I never heard this until now! It used to be, at least in the circles I ran in, that MJF did his vocals on Johnny b good in BTTF. But I now know this to be false.

According to wiki it's a New Zealand band called The Mutton Birds

The Mutton Birds were a great band.
I recommend checking out either of their first 2 albums; the self titled debut or the follow up "Salty"

my favourite song of theirs, about a gun shop owner who sold to a man who went and killed a bunch of people. true story.

also, OT, i used to go watch them filming this when i was a kid, they filmed it in lyttleton, over the hill from christchurch. met peter jackson, rode in the cop car, and saw a lot of scenes being filmed. great times.
