Is this intended to be an Autumn film?

I think it was shot in New Zealand, taking place somewhere in America. It looks and feels East coast at times, to me, but I have read it was supposed to look like 'middle America.' I don't know how accurate that is. But I get a lot of Autumn vibes from it. I feel obligated to watch it in the nights leading to Halloween.

Anyone have any insights or thoughts on this?

it's intended to show during Halloween but finally shown in 19 July 1996

I don't know how that's supposed to work since the town is pretty clearly next to the ocean.

I think it was meant to come out around the same time as that show Breaking Bad since both this movie and Breaking Bad happen in the same universe.
