Sweet home alabama...momma im coming home to you...!!! LS Rules!
Imagine the lineup, god must have a really good show played for him:
Vocals: Jim Morrison w/ John Lennon and Ronnie Van Zant as backing vocals Lead Guitar: Jimi Hendrix Second guitar: Kurt Cobain(sorry but hendrix is way beyond too much better!) Bass guitar: Clif Burton Drums: John Bonham Keyboards: Ray Manzarek(not dead jet but we can work something out...right?
"..Would some women in this desert land, make me feel like a real man!"
wow, um yeah. Your lineup's good, but it seems like your just putting together a list of virtuosos, except Kurt Cobain? He couldn't really play that well. If this was a reunion of Lynyrd Skynyrd, I personally would think that, on lead guitar, umm, i dunno, Allen Collins??? You know, since he was in the band and all. lol. In short, My Ideal Heaven skynyrd lineup would be Vocals: Ronnie Van Zant (Skynyrd) Lead Guitar: Allen Collins (Skynyrd) Second Guitar: Duane Allman(Allman Brothers Band)(very good player, good friend of Ronnie Van Zant) Third Guitar: Steve Gaines Bass Guitar: Leon Wilkeson (Skynyrd) Drums: Kieth Moon (Who)(erratic style would work well with freebird) Keyboards: Why not Ray Charles? I can't think of any other dead keyboardists/pianists that would fit better
The following is my version of Southern Rock, Jam Band and Classic Rock and Roll Heaven:
Lead Vocals - Ronnie Van Zant - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Guitar - Duane Allman - The Allman Brothers Band
Guitar - Steve Gaines - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Guitar - Toy Caldwell - Marshall Tucker Band
Bass - Berry Oakley - The Allman Brothers Band
Organ - Ron "Pigpen" McKernan - Grateful Dead
Drums - John Bonham - Led Zeppelin
Drums - Keith Moon - The Who
Most of these guys died very young. Jam bands are similar to Southern rock. I think I noticed that in the '90s when The Allmans started to sound like the Grateful Dead. I couldn't think of any Southern rock or jam band drummers so I went with two great classic rock drummers.
