lynyrd skynyrd movie

why has no one ever made a skynyrd movie? im talking similar to 'the doors' kinda thing. there's good stuff there and the band is beyond amazing. you would think someone would have done it by now

yea i agree

Seconded :D

They beat The Doors in my opinion.

I'm kinda hoping Cameron Crowe will get around to it eventually. Prob not till the remaining original members die tho. They don't want their whole story told, as evidenced by the total omission of Ed King from this film.

No Bob Burns either.

And Bob isn't given his due either, right. He was a pretty damn good drummer. It was AWESOME to see him and Artie playin together at the Rock n Roll HOF night.

Ya know Ed says Artie never learned how to play MCA correctly? That's weird condidering they originally brought Artie in to record Sat Night Special because apparently Bob couldn't play the part.

I heard stories that Bob was basically a shy, quiet passive type and Ronnie used to basically berate and abuse him.. it would explain why he left..

reply

Ronnie and Bob were friends and while Ronnie was a hard a$$ during rehearsals, he didn't hate Bob. Bob left because he just couldn't handle touring anymore. Then he asked Ronnie for a loan, and Ronnie couldn't give it at the time. That's who the song 'Am I Losin' is about. They got good with each other before the crash.

Yeah, I'd definitely like to see a movie made on the band. Playing band members is the kind of role that could made unknown actors/musicians superstars. They could even have siblings playing the Van Zants and the Gaines.

Like Ray and Walk the Line, there are a lot of music stars that crossed Lynyrd Skynyrd's path over the years, like Charlie Daniels, the Monkees & Jimi Hendrix, so it would chock full of interesting people and good music.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

My fav. band ever beat The Doors and Allman Brothers Band too, none like Lynyrd Skynyrd!

That's an awesome idea

A Skynyrd movie would be great. I doubt it would ever happen. There are too many people and estates to deal with.

Bob Burns passed away on April 3, 2015 from a car accident.

I get the impression Artimus Pyle isn't exactly on good terms with Ronnie Van Zant's widow and Gary Rossington.
