Favourite parts and being fooled.

As I'm interested in film making, my hubby mentioned I might like to watch a film by Peter Jackson that night - eagerly I awaited it's start. On returning home he stood there grinning as I unravelled the intrigue of the miraculous 'Colin McKenzie' life (he'd read it was a mockumentary & not told me)!!! I said to him "you just have to see it, it's amazing!"

Yes I'd cleverly pretty much been had (yes, sadly I'm blonde too). Was it just the pure enjoyment of it all....or was it desperation to believe something so unique may have just indeed somehow've been missed.....the rational part of my 'grey matter' was definitely struggling!!!

Funny parts. I nearly lost it when they made mention that the plane probably wouldn't have crashed if the camera hadn't been in the way (lol) & when they replayed the 'lost' footage they'd captured his last moments alive!!!

Seriously well done - I found it hugely comical :) Julz

I watched this in my doco film class and was aware i was about to watch a fictional film.

I was begining to get a bit skeptical when he got caught stealing 2000 eggs and laughed my ass off when Stan the man pied the baby in the carriage and pushed it down the hill.

But I finally saw the light when they discovered the city that Colin had apparently built. I yelled out "BULLSH*T NOWAY" in class. I was heavily shushed bu the still believing rest of my class... what a hoot.

If that 'Love God And Are 100% Proud Signature' makes you sick, make THIS your signature!

I especially laughed when the jury had to review his 'smut' for 11 hours....and found him guilty....

I like the fact that they went with a crystal clear digitally enhanced closeup of a newpaper convieniently folded just the right way in a backpocket to prove that the flying took place some 9 months before the Wright brothers flew. Another way would have been more believeable, but i guess people are so taken in by the story, that they forget the limitations of digital enhancement.

i completly belived that this was a real documentary, that colin mckenzie was a real guy! in my defense, i was only 10 when i saw it. but i honestly had no idea it wasn't real.

I went in KNOWING it was a mockumentary and STILL almost believing it! Jackson is a GENIUS!!!!

Unfortunately, before seeing this, I'd read a biography of Peter Jackson and seen a brief review of the DVD in a magazine, so when I finally saw it, I knew it was a fake.

Still, when I saw it, I wished I hadn't known. It is such fun to be fooled.

Nothing like a nice lawsuit to ruin your day...

I was totally fooled, I channeled surfed into it one day and stay to watch the end. After it was over I could not believe all this could happen to one man and to find the lost footage like that;WOW. I went looking to see how much of the documentary I had missed and that is when I saw it was a fake..I mean it was playing during Sundance Channels Documenatry Day; so I never assumed it was a mockumentary, they got me good and would love to see the whole thing instead of the last 30 min.

Colin's death on the battlefield is incredibly poignant - after being denied the opportunity to serve king and country two decades before, he was finally able to prove his heroism. I find that more touching that nine hours of LOTR.

Stan the man getting the *beep* kicked out of him by the cops.

Best part by far! that was hilarious!!

The woman who played Hannah McKenzie was the most believable aspect of the film, I think. I knew the film was fake and spent most of the film trying to figure out how they did it, but when Hannah was onscreen I completely bought into it.

I laughed at lines like "Colin was forced to remove all religious references in his Biblical epic." It's a very clever movie.
