sounds like 'One Terrific Guy' made in 1986 *spoiler*

There was a similar TV movie made in 1986 starring Wayne Rogers. He played a high school coach who had sex with a female underage student. She turned him in just before the state playoffs, and he was fired and later arrested. The whole school turned against the girl. Her family was threatened, harrassed, their property vandalized, but justice won in the end. Many of his former victims testified against him and he was sent to prison for a long, long time. The town cared more about the school team winning in the playoffs, for which the coach was needed, than the girl who had been molested. This movie, For My Daughter's Honor, had a lot of the same stuff as "One Terrific Guy" -- beloved coach, insecure student -- only in OTG, the coach got a lot stiffer sentence and a lot of his earlier victims came forward. The girl in that movie ended up vindicated.
