This scene in the movie where Hope's brother was making fun of her saying "My immobolized sister" and then doing the "schloderma" dance. What was even horrifying about that scene was that his own daughter and Hope's own son were laughing about it.
I can see how that would bother some, but you have to remember that everyone has their own way of dealing with bad situations. And while that may seem inappropriate to some, for others its the only way they know how to cope. Also, Bob Saget directed this movie; it was his sister who passed away and the character who made those comments was supposed to be Saget, so I assume that in real life that's how he dealt with his sister's illness, and he wanted to keep the movie true to life.
Absolutely true. It was his and his family's story and he knows what happened. I too can see how some might be offended but, personally, I would have appreciated it. Sometimes, when you're going through something truly horrific and tragic, you have to find a way to laugh at it and make fun of it or you'll be consumed by the grief. Spending all of the time crying over it can do nothing. Laughing can help to give hope.
