How was it done?

Ok, I'm currently watching it and loving it! I just wonder how they did make the geese follow Paquin in the movie? Did the eggs hatch during filming? And how did they shoot the scenes when the geese followed the airplanes?

Go get the special edition DVD or Bluray and watch the bonus material. There's plenty of extras on the discs and very interesting to watch. :)

I happened to see this last week for the first time (didn't get to see the entire film because it was on a channel that I didn't know was available - lol), but it convinced me to follow up on learning how to fly a powered hang glider (there's an airport about 60 miles from here that offer lessons - if they're not too expensive)...

I didn't see a message board topic about this, but many might not realize that this is loosely based on a real-life incident:

imprint training is actually nothing new, but it's always impressed me that wild creatures can become that attached to a human that they consider it it's guardian, in a sense...

P.S. My old China Beach friend Dana Delany has a supporting role but comes through in Lt. McMurphy fashion when she yells at the bulldozer operator to "SHUT THAT THING OFF!"
