In the beginning of the movie Ben Stiller is talking about his possible parents, and random people are walking towards the camera one at a time. That last of these, the one that hangs in front of the camera for a while, really looks like Gwyneth Paltrow.
Is it her, or am I wrong?
I thought the exact thing! I watched it twice in the last week. I still think it is her...however...it is not listed in her IMDb movie listing. And by 1996, when this movie was made, she already had starred in Seven (Se7en). So I doubt she would take this uncredited, super minor, part as an extra. Although, perhaps its an inside joke...anyone know?

I just watched it last night on Netflix Instant, and rechecked it just now. Not Gwyneth in the top hat (although it does look a bit like her).
shareI don't know about Gwyneth P - but there was a guy at the beginning - during the montage of possible Dads - that's messing around in a garbage can - then he screams at passersby . . . he looks just like Larry David.
Actually a cross between Larry David and a silver werewolf.

The woman with the top hat is clearly too old to be Gwyneth Paltrow. The shirtless man looks very little like Larry David.
