What is the gameboy game that Elijah Wood is playing at a certain scene in the film?

I don't think he was actually playing a game was he? I don't know, I haven't seen the movie in a while but I don't think you actually see the screen. I think it's just sound effects. Wow, what a random post.

Not a random post, I am curious as some others might have been because I wondered if it is an actual game or just sound effects as you said.
I think it could be the classic Super Mario land but it could have been Tetris or something but I don't think it was either and wondered if anyone knew..

Sounded Tetris-y to me, but really I'd imagine they just recorded the sound effects themselves, rather than pay for the use of an established game soundtrack.

it's funny because gameboy doesn't make those video game sounds as it does in the movie
