Okay, don't get me wrong but...

A hammerhead? They picked probably the least threatening shark possible. Yeah, they look cool and are, well sharks, but they rarely go around attacking humans.

reply

I guess its kind of a toss-up between using a less than likely species or go with the overused great white.

reply

hammerheads are very lethal. in hawaii, they kill more swimmers than any other species. while not as ferocious or chillingly unpredictable as more savage species such as the tiger and great white, it's stil a confirmed mankiller and maneater. don't think for one second they aren't responsible, in short, for many human fatalities.

reply

Pretty sure Tiger Sharks kill way more people in Hawaii

will people stop spelling okey with an a huh? unless it's a chick. oh, you are a chick, i'm sorry then. he, i don't know. i tell you, i used to watch this when i was a kid, and it was dubbed to my languege, and some lines sounded so corny. by the way, was there a thread on this board that compared "Flipper" and "Jaws", a light hearted family movie to a horror flick?

in the purple eve sky,
remembering the sunny days gone by,
buddy, things seemed so changed,
though it's the same world of yesterday,
things are wittering and growing old,
the streets have turned gray and cold,
the world has changed,
like it's been stripped of all paint,
and all life sucked out,

"Okay" (also spelled "OK," "O.K.") is a colloquial English word denoting approval, acceptance, agreement, assent, or acknowledgment.

International usage
In Brazil and Mexico, as well as in other Latin American countries, the word is pronounced just as it is in English and is used very frequently. Although pronouncing it the same, Spanish speakers often spell the word "okey" to conform with the pronunciation rules of the language.

...just saying

Some hammerheads can be quite dangerous, especially the greater species.
So it was a pretty good choice. And it's refreshing to see something else beside Great White for once.

Al- though if they wanted to be even more scary they could've chosen tiger sharks or bull sharks. Those sharks are extremely dangerous and are known man-killers.

reply

Jajce and Lag, YES. HH sharks are not only cool, but dangerous as heck. Kudos to the film for using a legit and original choice! I still wish The Shallows used a tiger shark, but love it anyway.

Peter, shut up for pete's sake.
