Don't forget "The Net" (1995)!

Good one! Something about 1994-1996... I guess people didn't know how to back up their data back then.

reply

I don't think backing up was the problem...securing the data was the issue...

For example see "Eraser" (1996)

Lucky for our heroine that they have a cd burner in the computer that holds the company's most sensitive data!

Cheers!

hahaha how the heck do you hold a disc wrong?
Anyway, it just occurred to me that the 90s "get the disk" is the equivalent of the 70s "get the microfilm"! i wonder what's next... "get the ipod"?

'get the disk' even means something different now. When Dodge reached into that leather bag to pull out the disk, I expected to see a CD or DVD. Instead it was just a floppy. All that important info can fit on a floppy? In 1996 it could.

reply

A lot more happening in this film, but I think Hackers (1995) would definitely fall into the "get the (floppy) disk" category as well.

Predator II. Danny GLover gets the disc in the end and uses it to kill the predator.
