5??? This movie ruled! (SPOILERS)

I can't believe the low rating. It deserves at least a six. Here's why:

Good performance from Larry and even Steve.
The scene where Steve's girlfriend got killed genuinely shocked me. I was gobsmacked. How could these people do such a thing!
Good performance from Will Patton. (As always)
The great one liner "time to pay the piper"
The superb level of suspense created by the director at the cable car scene. As well as several others.
When Larry came in to save steve from torture all guns blazing and was suddenly revealed as a cop. Great twist.

Yeah I went into this expecting it to be kinda bad but it was actually allright, Salma Hayek was 100% sexy as always: 6/10

I enjoyed it.

Not a classic but still entertaining than most "action" movies today. 7/10

Agree.

The best thing was the banter between the two main characters.

Didn't you see Forrest Gump? With the guy and the girl on the bustop and the chocolates?

Didn't you see The Dark Knight? With the guy with the makeup and the bat?

One thing that irritates me about imdb boards it's the "looks like" topics. Never even close.

Don't forget them bringing up "The fugitive" and then Laurence saying "so is that your plan Dr. Kimble?"

Same here. Haven't seen it as many times, but love the movie (& have the soundtrack). Being set in Atlanta and released in 1996 it reminds me of the Summer of '96 and much happier times.

I thought it was ok and better then most action films today

It deserved more than a 5 just for the Ducati chase scene alone.

I love Ducati 916s. I've had two in my lifetime and the only reason I've had two was because I crashed the first one. Frankly, that was the worst chase scene since W.C. Fields ran from the cops in one of his movies. The Ducati 916 zipping in and out of traffic would have lost the Lincoln Town Car in about 30 seconds. The sound used for the bikes wasn't right and never got to the high rpm levels you would run if you were trying to get away from someone. Then at the end one that two ton piece of crap gets launched into the air just because the drive yanked the wheel after he was shot.......hokey.

I enjoy the movie, the movie references were fun, I love the bikes, and I have had the hots for Salma Hayek ever since "Fools Rush In" I think the movie is better than a "5" but I don't see it being a whole lot better.

It's watchable...

I totally agree with you, this was a great movie to just relax to. It was enjoyable and unique in certain aspects. I really liked the way Dodge kept making references to movies and then in the end, he makes one to "Whats love got to do with it" where Laurence Fishburn played Ike Turner! And Dodge says this right after he punched him. xD It's like he wasn't even talking to the character but the actor. I just loved that. I love it when they can have fun with *beep* things like that.

It got 8/10 from me. I was impressed by this movie. A true gem.
