Sequel asap

I think it's time to bring back the first wives!
It been almost 10 years, it's time.

Come on, Goldie, Bette & Diane, you can do it! =)

I wonder what would happen in the sequel! That would be really good!

Last year in Premiere magazine there was an interview with Diane Keaton in which she was asked if there would be a sequel to The First Wives Club. She mentioned that there would not ne one in the foreseenable future due to -surprise- money issues. Apparently her co-stars Hawn and Midler would like to get a huge paycheck increase for the sequel, but the studio is way reluctant to do that. Keaton mentioned that although she thought her co-stars had every right for demanding the same money increase as many male stars would ask if they were appearing in a sequel to a huge hit. But she added that more money would be offered to them if we were living in a better world and that what the studio was offering was still a lot. So, she would still like to do another one.

Well, I think that Midler and Hawn are in their right to ask for a salary increase, but I'd only champion a sequel if the script was up to scratch. Don't get me wrong: First Wives Club was quite entertaining, but surely it missed the bite that you would expect from the delirious cast and the source material.

Can't be a sequel cause the woman who wrote the book, Olivia Goldsmith, died a while back after while undergoing plastic surgery. The orginal book was really good, also some of the other books she has done. Pity.

She died from plastic surgery? Well, there's your sequel plot right there.

Yeah, *COUGH* Goldie's character. *COUGH*.

Not sequels please!

I don't think they should do a sequel. It would ruin the perfectly good film.

I would love a sequel, but I'd be afraid that it would ruin the original. And would it do so well being 10 years after the original? As much as I would like a sequel, I wonder how well it would be received. Since 2000, comedy quality has gone down considerably, I think. Unless the same writers did it, I might bekind of skeptical.

This film sooooo deserves a sequel, you see Goldie & Diane attending award ceremonies etc together alot so they are all definetly still friends which makes a sequel even more necesarry.

I'd love to know what become of Brenda, Annie & Ellise ten years on.

a sequel is very possible because the original movie took the characters from the book, but is very different

Now Bette, Goldie, and Diane are all pushing 60. They all enjoyed their 50th birthday celebrations together while making "The First Wives Club." They still look terrific as ever, and now we'd see this sequel as "The First Wives Club Two: These Old Broads." But since they keep youthful, age is only a state of mind these days. I wonder if these three are still good friends.
