Annie's daughter

Ok, she a lesbian, this comes out at the beginning, and it only comes up twice more, both times in the context of a joke (when the girls are at the bar, and at the end , when her father tells her he can't take any more surprises).

Should they have gone into more depth with the topic? Or perhaps not put it in? (I liked the joke at the end but the scene at the bar was dumb)

I'm quite a lovely person - apart from my terrible taste in pie.

I know, I thought it was cool how they just did it in a "by the way, I'm a lesbian....have a nice day!" way rather than a big, teary, groan-inducing 10-minute speech from the daughter. Defintely a small part of the movie that was ahead of it's time (even for the late nineties).

my thing was that she did not look like she would be their daughter.
