Fargo vs Big Lebowski vs No Country

Which of those three is the best Coen Brothers movie?

reply

Fargo

No Country for Old Men (2007) is my favorite movie from that decade.

reply

fargo

but i think all three of them are pretty much perfect movies.

i put fargo at the top because it's got an emotional bite that i don't get out of the other films.

every time margie tells gaear there's more to life than a little money, i get a little misty-eyed.

guess i'm a wimp!

i also think inside llewyn davis, blood simple and raising arizona are pretty much perfect films in their own way.

the coens have given us a lot of great cinema.

For me, TBL is more re-watchable.

reply

i can see that. it's an easy film to throw on and spend the evening with.

reply

It certainty ties the room together, does it not

No Country

No Country For Old Men,with Fargo a close 2cd

I myself have never understood the gushing & fandom over The Big Lebowski. Just me I guess.I found it too meandering & disjointed.

reply

Same here. I saw TBL in the theater and I didn't even like it at the time. Fargo is definitely #1 with NCFOM coming in second.

NCFOM

I know Big Lebowski is very overhyped, but it's the most re-watchable of the three to me.
Fargo is my second.
