Boring!

Why the hell did this movie get praise when it first came out? Recently watched on netflix and I was really bored.

reply

I don't see how this film can be seen as "boring", but to each his own.

Yes, very dull. And the lead female performance reminded me of the goofy housewife next-door neighbor character there used to be on 1960s sitcoms. Thoroughly overrated.

Or maybe you are just a dull, unimaginative person who can't appreciate a well-crafted movie? We need some like you to make the rest of us look really, really smart! 

I'm trying to figure that out too. What a freaking boring movie. I found myself just annoyed throughout it all.

You lied to us, Mr. Mizzougrad. You're a bald-faced liar. A...f-cking liar!

OP, you're boring. Fargo is the best film of the 90s.

I don't have a signature.

reply

Yup!

Then the tv series won't be for you either.

Personally speaking, I saw Fargo (1996) about 8 years ago. I didn't remember a whole lot of the film and I figured this was due to it being uninteresting. That's normally what happens when I watch a film I'm not fully immersed in, I'll quickly forget about it.

I began watching the tv series a little while ago and I'm fully caught up. I absolutely LOVE the series. Its charm and characters, everything about it is great. Same for the technical aspects.

So with this, I thought I'd revisit Fargo (1996) last night. I believe the tv series has made me appreciate the film much much more. I don't know why the film didn't stick with me when I first saw it. I could have been distracted, who knows, because it really is a great film. It's too bad the series had to come around to make me realize that, but better than not having returned to it at all I guess.

We've met before, haven't we?

Did you forget your ADHD meds? Let me guess you probably couldn't put down your phone either right? Did you watch a transformers marathon the day before or something? I'm sure Warcraft would be alot more interesting to you, check that out.

reply

I've just got round to watching this for the first time today, and I can't recall a single moment that bored me.

reply

Yeah, nothing exploded... fucking boring.

reply

"nothing exploded"

The over-used and lazy response.

At one extreme there's boring, and at the other extreme there are explosions. Somewhere in between is a movie with interesting characters, situations, and dialog. "Fargo" is not that movie.

reply

nope , that scale is all off , for some people explosions and boring are at the same end of the scale , the other end having drama , storyline , plot , well rounded characters etc

reply

My comment was sarcastic. Fargo is one of my favorite films.
