Does this movie make anyone else...

... hungry?

reply

Well I am always hungry so I'd have to say "NO", and that's all I have to say about that. Case closed.

No, especially the eggs for breakfast part.

The lunch buffet scene made me somewhat nauseous. Years later on a rewatch, I self administered a phenergan suppository and felt OK through most all the eating scenes.

He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator.

Made me hungry for pancake house.

I think you're the opposite of paranoid, I think you walk around with the delusion people like you.

Pancakes House

I was going to start a discussion about how many times they showed people eating but I will just add to your thread. I usually watch Fargo while I am eating too as I would get hungry otherwise.

reply

Hungry? No. I don't eat eggs and the buffet steam table chicken fricasee looks pretty inedible. So, no. This ain't an episode of Anthony Bourdain full of food porn that makes you salivate like a Pavlov dog.

But I'll tell ya what. This movie does make me cold. I don't care if I'm watching it in the middle of July and it's 95 degrees Fahrenheit outside. I still feel strangely compelled to put on a heavy fleece jacket, a fur hat and insulated snow boots. I'm freezin', man. If the Coens did nothing else, they convinced me never to move to the upoer Midwest. Bad food, cold weather and kids with "Accordian King" posters on their bedroom walls. Even if you overlook the occasional leg in a woodchipper, that's still no way to live. Sorry, Minnesota....but not all the Mary Tyler Moores in the world can make up for that. I'm stayin' put.

Bad food in the Midwest? Chicago has the best food in the country! Minneapolis has some great places as well. Kansas City?
That was an ignorant comment.

The 4 months of winter isn't for everyone,I love winter activities like playing hockey, snowmobiling and ice fishing.
The summer months are a nice as anywhere.
How they shot this movie made the state look very gloomy and looked nothing like the landscape, especially around Brainerd with their world class lakes with pine trees and hills as far as a person can see.

I find this post hilarious. The midwest is known for having the worst food in the states. Sure, if you like buckets of lard, deep fried butter, and BBQ, they have lots of it, but that is very far from fine dining or good food.

Hardies, Arbys and buffets, ya

reply

A shot and a steak.

I could go for a lady in a woodchipper salad.
