underrated movie

I don't understand why this movie didn't do that great at the box office and still seems fairly obscure today. It really is an excellent, well made thriller. It even feels more relevant today do to how eerily similar it is to 9/11 and other terrorist attacks we routinely see on the news. I guess Kurt Russell just wasn't a big enough star to make this big.

1996 was the year of Indepedence Day, Twister and Mission: Impossible.

But I agree Executive Decision is a brilliant, accomplished action film that is thrilling to the nth degree.

Maybe it's because they killed off that guy early on?

Kurt is great as the lead but maybe miscast?

The entire cast here is awesome. Oliver Platt, Halle Berry, John Leguizamo, Joe Morton, David Suchet.

And the action is truly stunning.

It certainly is. I don't know why it didn't do better than it did. May be because it isn't wall to wall action, but has an intriguingly developed plot, involving a wide array of characters, rather than 1 central character cleaning house.🐭
