Was everyone firing pellet guns?

Seems like everyone sustained multiple close range shots to their upper torso yet were still able to walk around and/or fire off more rounds after being shot.

Yes the gun fire between the bad guys and good guys was poorly choreographed. The special ops team didn't look so special.

People can get shot several times and still survive, walk around, and keep fighting. Happens all the time. The special ops are mostly using handgun bullets which often don't do a very good job of putting someone down right away. It is actually pretty realistic that people are getting shot in the movie and still surviving, moving around, etc.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure they were wearing kevlar or some sort of protective vests. And the weapons used aboard a plane (tight quarters) are going to be selected for firing at close range, not AK-47 style weapons. That's why pistols were best or small automatic weapons for successfully taking out the hijackers.

I'm watching it right now. Haven't gotten to the plane guns yet but the spec op guns at the beginning were silenced which lowers effective damage a little

Using a suppressor doesn't reduce the effectiveness of a weapon. In fact, they're commonly used not for stealth, but to protect the hearing of anyone nearby when the gun is fired, because guns are really loud.

For stealth, they'd probably be using subsonic ammunition too, which isn't as loud because the bullet doesn't travel as fast. That's what reduces their power.
