in EFNY Hauk states Plissken's name as SD Plissken..I assumed those were his initials but in this one they call him SD Bob Plissken...so was the Bob thrown in as a nod to Lee Van Cleef and his character of Bob Hauk...
shareThe SD probably means "Special Defense"(or something similar) since he was an operative for the US government back in his earlier days. It was probably his future world's equivalent of the Special Forces.

Also, it'd be like saying they were calling him, for example, 'Lt. (Bob) Plissken' if he had been in the normal military previously.
