Maybe, just maybe, in the long run they might find a way to track her down, but it would take weeks, if not months...Yes,this is another case of simply lazy writing..Thing is, few viewers pay attention to details like this in action movies as long as they are entertained.

He doesn't know what they know, though. For all he knows, they've already found her. He's been poisoned and only has moments before passing out... he gambles and figures the safest thing to do is contact her and tell her to go to their meeting place, which would at least buy her some time if they were already on her trail.

Also for all he knew he might be injected with some kind of truth serum or they might torture him to get her location, he had to get her out although as the way things turned out that's exactly what Caan wanted him to do.
