Who else loves the proposal scene?

It's one of the most romantic and beautiful scenes I have ever seen in a film. You can see how much Knightley loves her and how much he wants to marry her. Jeremy delivers the speech so beautifully and tenderly. No matter how many times I watch this it always gets me, it's so romantic and Jeremy is excellent in that moment(he's great in the rest of the film too).

Same here. It's such a beautifully shot scene. Plus, Mr. knightly looks sooooooo handsome in it.

Glad it's not just me who loves that scene. You're so right Jeremy Northam as Mr Knightley is very handsome in that film.

Being a gay male who doesn't find Jeremy Northam especially attractive and is of course not interested in Gwyneth Paltrow in any romantic way, I don't relate to this scene in quite the same fashion as do others. What DOES move me about the scene is its spot-on portrayal of the pure and utterly true human understanding reached between two people who have discovered a genuine inutterably powerful human bond between each other. To me, that's more precious than gold.

I dearly love this film, and the proposal scene is its most heartfelt moment thanks to the writing, direction, and performances of two remarkable actors. And let's not forget that Jane Austin, centuries ago, first grasped the utterly human truth of it. This climax of the movie never fails to bring me to joyful tears. How beautiful to see two people so beautifully in love! This is the undying power of Austin's genius.

Mr Knightley is my favorite of the Jane Austen men. He's perfect
