Jeremy Northam - Gorgeous!

I think this is one of Jeremy's best roles, though he was excellent in 'Gosford Park', too.

His beauty is ethereal in this film - Costumes are sexy (wow, look at him in those breeches!) and I love how he so readily fits into the character.

Also excellent, and very sexy, in "The Winslow Boy" - another period drama.

Profoundly agree!

He brings sex appeal to Mr Knightley in this story. In the Kate Beckinsale adaption, Mr Knightley is not attractive at all!

I like it when he says "No, we are not brother and sister." I was like "Oh! Oh my."

I didn't think Mark Strong was very attractive as Mr. Knightly in the Kate B. version, either, but I have seen him in other movies since then and thought he was good looking. Maybe he tries harder to look good now? ha ha

How great to find people who love Jeremy Northam, especially in this role and the Winslow Boy. My sister and I gasped when he first came on screen in that. We read Georgette Heyer novels and there he was -- the Regency Hero come to life. (even though WB was from a much later period. He COULD have been the perfect GH hero.)

Anyway we loved him, also in Possession, and were sad that no one we'd ever met even liked the Winslow Boy.

He was ravishing in Emma even though he seemed not quite old enough to me to play Knightley.

Sighhhhh....I know if I were doing some genetic work, I'd make a whole race of Jeremy Northams - what a DOLL!!!! I love this movie - it's gentleness and sweetness, but I'm also completely captivated by Northam's absolutely amazing good lucks and grace. It's unusual to see a man who combines good lucks with a sweetness and good humor that makes him absolutely irresistible. What can I say, I'm also in love with Mr. Knightley!!!

I must say he has been expertly cast-- just the right age AND amount of "boyish" charm/temperature-- totally made the age difference (older man-younger woman) obvious AND endearing....

Not an easy thing to do considering the other BBC TV adaptations ended up working with, whatever their other qualities. 2009/1995 BBC Knightley looked/behaved much too youthful and 1972/1995 BBC Knightley looked/behaved much too gruff.

If you care enough to go around telling people you don't care... you obviously care.

Not Only incredibly talented Jeremy Northam is by far one Of The most beautiful and most charismatic actors in the UK. His Mr. Knightely is only comparable in beauty to Greg Wise's Willoughby.

He looked very handsome.
I thought he was Eric Bana, I just saw this movie tonight with two friends and I told them that mr Knightly was Eric Bana.
