not at all a bad movie!!!!! (diabolique)

what's wrong with you... i really thought this was a great film,i love the cast specially mrs. kathy bates, isabella adjani and yes........sharon stone.
i know that the first one it's more faithful to the book but i have to confess the musique that sound at the beginning of this film was what kill me,i mean in a list of my favories score film diabolique is second after carrington and in third would be dangerous liaisons , cinema paradise , edward's scissors hands, the secret garden , leon le professionel, the lord of the ring(the trilogy), good bye lenin , the village, the nightmare before christmas, etc.

I really liked it, too.

its one of my favorite movies.

Have any of you seen the original? This remake was stupid (though I admit it is enjoyable in an over-the-top and pretty bad way). The original is much better - slow-burning creeps and suspense, great ambiguous ending.

reply

i need to see the original, i hear the remake (which i love) is straight cheese compare to original

reply

The remake is definitely much better. Word of warning, though, if you really liked/enjoyed this one you may initially find the original a bit disappointing. It's not as over the top. Much slower, gradual build up to suspense, etc.

in fact i've whatch the origenal didn't you read my thread?

reply

I have to watch this every time it comes on T.V. The original is great, this one not so great.

I also liked it very much. I thought it had some pretty good sequences, like the part in the beginning when they are killing her husband and in the end when they are trying to drown him together in the pool.

I saw both versions of this movie this week. The original is far better, but this one isn't that bad. I'd give it a 7, not a 5.

They didn't handle the ending twists as well. There wasn't as much suspense, but some of the characters were better. Sharon Stone, despite the awful clothes and garish lipstick, had some good scenes, particularly at the end. Her motivation made more sense here than in the original.
