Ending
I watched this movie twice and I still don't get the ending part, so i'd appreciate if anyone can help me out.
shareHave you seen Les Diaboliques (1955)? Now *that's* an ambiguous ending. Nothing ambigious about this re-make's ending, so I'm not sure what you don't get.

sharebecause she was in on it. The idea was to kill the wife, not the husband. The wife's delicate heart condition is the key -- and the goal was to scare her to death.

shareI think that the mistress had used him. She toyed with him until the very end, so I guess you could say that the two women actually hated him. Also, In both films, he gets what he deserves - only in this one, he dies. In the other (the original), He gets arrested.
shareBy the end the two women have formed a connection they didn't have in the beginning. Really the whole film was developing their connection that ultimately made Nicole (Stone) switch sides. She and Mia (Adjani) really gave each other what the other was missing emotionally and mentally. Fantastic film that is sadly, sadly underrated.
sharecause the director decided to make the two characters seem like they had a lesbian thing going on. So Nicole is attached to Mia and the husband was always an *beep* and both of the girls wanted him dead. it's a retarded ending.
shareI know it's been 8 years since you posted this but I'll respond anyways. I think Nicole really did love Guy and thought he loved her. However, once she found out about the girl he was screwing behind her back and saw she was coming to get money for an abortion.. she realized Guy was using her like he used Mia. She didn't mean anything to him. However, she did mean something to Mia and she was really coming to care about Mia and knew Mia truly cared for her. So, she decided to call it off but apparently Guy either didn't want to or didn't get her message. So, when she sees that Mia is still alive, she tries to save Mia and Guy sees she's not as into the idea as before, turns on her and tries to kill them both. It was basically self defense for Nicole and Mia.
Real love is FOREVER!!!!
