Are you serious?

Im a huge movie fan,and a fan of the 50's,60's and 70's movies. I adore Hitchcock and the suspense, admirer of the movies like Sunset Blvd or Rebecca etc...
But are you serious that the original is better? That is very simple, plain, over acted and impossible, and the end is obvious wheter you have seen or havent the remake.
I really think that this movie is great, athmospheric and well acted with great music and great style. I really cant believe that this movie is bashed to death. I havent read the novel if i must say but i truly can believe that this is another adaptation of the same book, not a remake.
Sharon is amazing,Isabelle is vulnerable, and Chazz is charismatic. And BTW Cathy Bates is a way bettr detecvtive that the man was in the other version.

And one more thing: i would be soo happy if all of these recent remake movies would be this "bad"...

I like both versions, so I have nothing against this one.

This is a brilliant film in every sense of the word. I've been obsessed with it since 1998, when I was sixteen and came upon it. I have since gotten the script and have read it countless times. I keep coming back to it because it all suits my sensibilities. Don Roos's script is one of my favorite. My one criticism would be the ending of the final cut, which doesn't quite satisfy or make sense, and leaves the characters in a kind of unresolved vacuum; Roos's script continues for another almost ten pages or so, with more deep scenes between Mia and Nicole, seeing their relationship through. But otherwise, the film is gorgeous to look at, thrilling to watch and hear, the costumes and cinematography are hallucinatory in their stylishness and aesthetic execution. Just a great, great film. Is it real life? No. Is it meant to be? No? It's heightened drama, with cores of emotional truth. It isn't mere artifice, but it has all that is great about artifice, as well as pathos.

Sorry to burst yer bubble, but for me and millions of others this pic is drivel, like inhaling fart gas in an enema bag.

Let it be unsaid: insignificance is the locus of true increpation.

I think it's pretty good. Some people don't like remakes, and some just like the original better.

This is a good crime thriller, IMO.
