was this really made in 97? it looks more like 87, at the most early 90s.. certainly it was shelved for a while or something??
if this was truly the late 90s then jeezus, all the actors look and act like they were stuck in a time warp.. then again they were probably 30 year olds trying to play teenagers

can i ask how old you are? i ask because if you think their look was 80s, you must be pretty young. thats a pretty acurate 90s movie as far as hair and fashion is concerned, even with the cheap CGI/morphing effects(a good sign this couldnt be an 80s movie).
as for the kids, they're all in their 20s i'd say if not younger. one of them even became famous for 10mins. the blonde, slutty girl who eventually gets a snake arm....she eventually become the lead singer for the band Joydrop. they had two somewhat popular songs... "Beautiful" and "Sometimes Wanna Die". the band eventually broke up and she's solo these days though not sure if she's released albums herself.
but i remember the first time i saw this was a few years after it came out and the band was around and i recognized her and was all excited cuz she got topless. oh....its so easy to please a boy. :P
The guy who played Orson was big on Nickelodeon in the early 90s. He was on You Can't Do That On Television and the first episode of Are You Afraid Of The Dark
shareI was thinking the same thing, the OP was too young in the 80s (or not around) if they think the characters here are in the 80s. This is clearly a mid 90ish movie. Though I've noticed a lot of people born in the mid 80s and after tend to confuse anything made before 1998 as "80s". While those of us who were there can usually tell. The only time I get confused if is something is made in 1989-1991, or 1979-1981, or 1999-2001. But even then, I'm usually right about what's 1979 and what's 1981 and what's 1989 and what's 1991, or what's 1999 and what's 2001.
Otherwise I am rather close to my guess as to what year something was made in and never off by more then 1-2 years.
i know what you mean, i see a lot of those "you know you're a 90's kid if.." lists and it goes on to list clothing, toys and pop culture stuff that's apparently from the 90's but often most of those items listed came out in the 80's first if not earlier.
wondering if there will one day be a "00's kid list" showing 90's items. lol
