I paid $3aus for this movie and it was not worth it.

In another thread la di da is quoted as saying "the character development was paramount" what character development? Between each actor on screen trying to deliver a lesson in English literature and blathering more meaningless *beep* at each other I was wondering what is the point of this story.

In regards to the irrelevant scenes, 1. The two sisters talking about sex in their parent’s house. The point being... well after 5 minutes of drooling satire they fulfilled their scene in two lines "Do you want a baby with a husband you suspect of cheating on you...I am uncertain" BOOM! That’s two lines; I didn’t need to hear the rest of your self serving commentary on what life is like with controlling parents.

The most rewarding part of this movie for me was when my DVD player said 1hr and 20mins as the credits rolled instead of the 100 minutes that it quotes on the cover.

I'll defend this movie. It may not be worth twenty dollars, but its definetely worth three dollars. I agree with the person who wrote a summary of the movie and said it was "intriguing from beginning to end." I really liked it.

- I'll defend this movie too... I bought my used Video for $1.00 :)
It turns out that "Hollywood Video store" is Selling ALL their Videos for about as much, to make room for Every Dvd they can.. Lol.

- In All Fairness I Liked this Indie Movie - I also Liked it when These types of films were in their day, during the Mid-Nineties... I mean, the Issues of Indie filming, with Good lighting - Involving mostly a Station wagon. Sitting in that car "Stalking" the Husband all day. The Relationship troubles that the Wife "assumes" would be with another Woman. ((The one they See come out of the Apartment Residence)). All the while, he's been having with another man for a year. And the Pr*ck - has the nerve too stand there in the Cold and Asks HER to Help Him... That was the "Coming out" Issues, Indie style then. Not as much a big leap if you watch it Now. - I stand by it for these reasons. Plus, Didn't the Actress "Mom" Do a Great Job.. being a Nagg!!?

Err, Sweepi Charms, here's a phrase that you might want to consider using when you comment on a film, out of courtesy for those of us who haven't seen the film yet:

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

(Should you err on the side of politeness and decide to use this phrase, you can decorate it, or not, any way you choose. You don't have to make it red, bold, and all caps, but I do so that it stands out for people who like to be SURPRISED by major plot points when they watch a film.)

I suggest usage for this term as follows:

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

(Several spaces here, to prevent accidental siting of the spoiler)

(Here I'm quoting your spoiler):

All the while, he's been having with another man for a year. And the Pr*ck - has the nerve too stand there in the Cold and Asks HER to Help Him... That was the "Coming out" Issues, Indie style then.
In my opinion, Major Plot Surprises like this one deserve such treatment.

That said, I agree with you about his behavior. He had no right to ask her help with anything! Seeing her reaction was good, though. It was great to see her blossom out of her wishy-washiness.

Can you sell me your copy if you still have it? I love it.

This is a clever, smart movie. I loved it. Maybe you should pick something from the 'action movie' section next time.

I agree – fantastic film. Think of all the rubbish that gets churned out of Hollywood and the constant poor re-makes. You get a sense that all the characters in the film are like real people, like you're watching a real day. There is a story and it keeps you watching and it is also funny.

I agree with Nicholas. I find a movie to be a lot better when the characters are believable. Not every Hollywood movies needs to be "Titanic". I find the Day Trippers to be smart, charming and cleverly written. For 3 dollars I would have bought a hand full for stalking stuffers.

"Stalking stuffers"....that's AWESOME....ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!

I agree but I'd go farther and say it was flawless. Every word and gesture was perfect. Let's compare two directors: Scorsese's Cape Fear had two cardboard female characters and he couldn't decide what kind of man the protagonist should be. He has to be more controlling and less affectionate for Max Katie's plan to work. The seduction of the daughter was particularly lame. I was almost embarrassed for Scorsese there. In The Daytrippers, on the other hand, each character was clearly drawn and accessible. But which director has the better career? The one who knows less about people. Strange. S has talent, yes, and Cape Fear was good despite its flaws but think how much better it would've been had S just made a few decisions instead of whistling a few bars and faking it on the important issues between men and women, people and their souls.

Well the fact that you're an Oz might be the problem. (I say that since you mentioned Australian $).
I lived in Ozland for a spell and there were some shows & movies with some part of ozland as part of the tapestry of the tale. I couldn't get it for one bit. Nor did I want to. I didn't give a damn about oz problems and the way folk lived, their foibles, etc. I was just too "yankee" to want to learn about another culture, even if it was yet one more european-type country, but sometimes one is just not attuned to mores and behavior of a particular aspect of a society one doesn't live in.
I lived in the area from which those folk lived and breathed. I know people almost exactly like them. So this movie was basically like watch a long home-movie of a neighbor or friend.
One must be careful with what they spend their money on. If it doesn't instantly strike you as something you would be interested in wasting 1.5 hours of your precious life then don't spend the duckets.
But because the price was $Aus 3 I suspect this DVD was in some remainder/sale bin with all the other flicks wise enough ozzies with enough smarts to know what to purchase and what not bypassed.
Bummer for ya, mate, but I ain't feelin' sorry for ya. I loved this movie. Just bummer for you.
