Christopher Ewing + Pam Cooper

So, am I right in thinking that Christopher was adopted? Because I was totally freaked out when he was hanging out with Pam, who we later find out is his cousin. (Since she is the daughter of Cliff Barnes) Then I remembered that back on the actual TV series, I think Christopher was adopted. If this is true, he isn't really a blood cousin, but I was still bothered by the fact that nobody brought this up in the movie. Did anyone else catch on to that?

reply

Yes, I did too and didn't get it. Then, like on another post, I too wondered why there was NO mention of Pamela, but someone answered that, so who the heck knows with these darned soaps! lol

reply

Christopher was adopted and it was a major plot during the shows run.
Christopher's biological parents are Kristin (Sue Ellen's sister, played by Mary Crosby) and Jeff Farraday. Initially Bobby thought JR was the father.
Bobby and Pam adopted Christopher, with Sue Ellen's blessings.

reply

Pam was Cliff's sister, not daughter.

reply

Pam Cooper is the daughter of Cliff Barnes and Afton Cooper.

Can anybody fill me in on Christopher and Pamela Rebecca Cooper/Barnes in this movie?

What was their story?
What happened between them?
Did they know each other before?
How old was Pamela in this movie?
What was the conclusion between them?

I'm asking because I'm just watching season 1 of the new Dallas series where Pamela disguises as Rebecca Sutter and marries Christopher.

Am I assuming right that the Ewings didn't care for Cliff Barneses daughter and didn't know her?

Was there something going on in this movie that could lead to a continuity error in the new Dallas series?

Please answer, I'm too curious! ;)

reply

I believe the new 'Dallas' ignores the plot developments in the two reunion movies. Perhaps they were just dreams.

:)

Yes, the two reunion movies were disregarded in the new Dallas series, reportedly, over rights issue. The original pilot actually made reference to events in J.R. Returns, but the references were omitted because of a rights issue.

Cliff met Pamela Rebecca, when she was staying at the ranch next door. They became friends, but not romantically involved. Pamela was about 16 in this reunion movie. She invited Chris and John Ross to a sleepover party at a friends. John Ross supposedly had sex with another girl at the party while Chris and Pamela remained friends. At the end of the movie, Chris and John Ross helped Pamela get her mother out of a sanitarium J.R. sent her to, and they met up with Cliff, who didn't reveal that he was Pamela's father, but it seemed he was going to reunite with Afton and Pamela. Chris later recounted the story to Bobby, saying it all begin with a girl named "Pamela," alluding back to the original Pamela.

reply

They should have let the reunion movies be canon. The Ewings had already met Pamela so her being a spy on them in the TNT Dallas series was dumb.

reply

I bet Lucy and Ray back in the early days would really freak ya out!
