Eden Hall Warriors vs Team Iceland

The Mighty Ducks are a lot like the Karate Kid. They really shouldn't have been able to beat anybody. And they really didn't. They just came up with a few gimmick plays to win.

But are we really supposed to believe that Team Iceland is a step down from Eden Hall?!

Even if they are a repeat state champ, they are still a varsity club at a HS. But the world games had the Ducks playing against an all-star team featuring a bunch of 16-17 year olds from a supposed world power.

In a real life scenario, who is really better? An all star team of teens for a real power like Team Canada, or a bunch of guys from Minnesota?

They may love their hockey in Minnesota, but come on!

America's sport is not hockey. HS kids from the US don't beat kids from major powers. Because the pros can't beat them.

I wouldn't believe Iceland was a step down from Eden Hall.

Let's think for a second. Team Iceland had to be average age 15-17 during the Goodwill Games. Plus, they already had tremendous size advantage over the ducks at that time. So you can figure the varsity would be blown out against Iceland. Plus, the context of playing on the international stage is strictly based around sportsmanship and honor. The Eden Hall varsity were a bunch of snobby punks who were the local/state favorites; they even could have been favored by the officials arranging the games, in case their parents (some of whom were on the school's governing board) got them in their pocket somehow.
