Bombay and Eden Hall

I didn't see this brought up on here but how do you suppose Bombay was able to go to Eden Hall. It's implied in the other movies that his family didn't have a lot of money, especially with his dead dying young. He had stopped playing hockey by then too. So how could his mom afford to send him there?

reply

It was never brought up, much like everything else in the series stuff is said to look good for the moment even if it contradicts itself from the other movies.

Somehow there was enough $ for him to go to law school. So I guess a fancy private high school is not too far of a stretch.

reply

Student loans could have paid for law school, esp considering he would have gone back in the 80's.

For Eden Hall, he could have gotten a scholarship. Also, Eden Hall might have a worked program. I know in the New Orleans area, some private schools (Holy Cross School for example) has a work program where the students do work throughout the school year to work off their tuition. Plus if a parent works at the school, your tuition is reduced.

He also might have had a scholarship for college plus he could have worked his way thru college.

Where was it implied he was ever poor? I thought quite the opposite since the way he talked made it sound like he did have cash since his father worked a lot. (In films that's almost always code for had money) He even attended Eden Hall so I doubt he was ever low income in his life.

reply

I don't think he was poor either. He played for the Hawks as a child and their district is supposed to be pulling from one of the wealthier areas of the city.

I always thought Bombay was more midclass level. I also thought in this movie Bombay sort of implies that he played hockey at Eden Hall as well (but I could be wrong). If that's the case, then this would be a direct contradiction from the 1st movie with a young Bombay quitting hockey.
