Soundtrack

There are two excellent songs by Los Fabulosos Cadillacs featured in this movie;
however, they are not included in the soundtrack. How come?

reply

1.carmela
2.el matador

great songs

reply

Yes, but my question was why were they not included in the soundtrack cd.

reply

It's likely that the producers just didn't secure soundtrack rights for those songs even though they could use the songs in the movie. This happens a lot.

reply

Thanks.

reply

A shame cos they are both, but especially Matador, great songs.

reply

The only two great songs in the film's soundtrack and they're out of the CD!
I don't even care in released that ost without those songs!

Prostitute: What the *beep* are you doing?
Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.

reply

Can you get the soundtrack or any of those songs on iTunes?

Excuse me--ya'll lookin' for a dead body??

reply

Maybe it was because the Fabulosos Cadillacs were on the WMG label that is also a music publisher. The soundtrack was released by Geffen which is owned by Universal Music mega-corporation. I noticed that they used a lot of classic cumbias from the 60s and cover versions probably because it was easy to acquire them. Its such a Tarantino trademark to feature old school tracks, but In this case it was South American cumbias. It was maybe some funding issue. It was an indie movie w/ a low budget, so that probably had something to do with it.

One of the coolest movie soundtracks I know, awesome cumbia and the Rosana songs are great.
