It had me from the opening titles.....

I was astonished to see Marianne Faithful and then that long, long trip round the club filmed so effectively that you could almost smell the place ....all life was there.

Peter P, a tour de force as usual....and deeply, deeply disturbing, perfectly naturally a sociopathic killer, odd isn't how a film like this with no bells and whistles is far more squeamish making than all the Saws put together...but that could just be personal taste.

The only down is Stephen Baldwin...being Stephen Baldwin and trying just a bit too hard, outclassed and possibly knew it but I have to acknowledge that as the film progresses he did improve.

Must add that the scenes where he wears his hair 'down' are less good ( I get it that it's the double character thing but he overplays it) and the one where he and Sadie Frost are sporting identical hair is unintentionally hilarious.

And what a lot of familiar faces.... a surprise good film, not fantastic but not bad.

Don't worry ever, because this is just a ride. It's just a ride.

Film 4 should show this followed by Timecrimes, the Spanish time travel film.

Yes, the opening scene was astonishing and incredibly dream-like. Almost like a scene taken from a David Lynch film. And those were two of Marianne Faithfull's most beautiful songs.

It's a shame that the opening scene was the best part of the whole film.

I thought the film had its moments, mostly due to PP.
