Criterion needs to release this on blu ray.

Only Criterion appreciates David Cronenberg like his fans. They have released Crash on Laserdisc way back and hoping they could get the license to release it now on blu ray. They have released several Cronenberg films on DVD and blu. Why not this one?

I would also love to see it get the criterion treatment on blu ray. New Line is now controlled by WB and WB is a bit stingy when it comes to licensing out titles. Plus WB does not have he greatest releationship with Criterion unlike the other major studios.

There’s now a German blu and 4K UHD version.

I second this statement. This is the best work of David Cronenberg so far... beside 'EXISTENZ'. I would really like to know, how long we have to wait for ELABORATE releases of both masterpieces!

reply

I would love to see this released too.

I'd buy it on day one. As another poster said, though, New Line is now owned by WB and WB doesn't like to farm out their titles for release. With that in mind I'd be happy with a high-quality blu-ray from Warners.

reply

oh man if crash is under wb now there is no way criterion will be able to get it. theyve tried to get the devils sooo many times and wb would not budge yet they let a british company put out the devils in a really crappy cut edition.

plus i just checked the warner archive site and they have a dvd of crash on the site now.

Me too, this is one film crying out for the Blu Ray treatment, most of Cronenberg's films are now available on Blu Ray, but not this one, Must happen soon!!

reply

Since WB seems to be SLOWLY taking the stick out of their asses about their titles being leased ("Badlands" and "Day for Night" with Criterion, "Nightbreed" with Shout Factory), perhaps there is hope one day for "Crash" to get proper Criterion treatment.

reply

Definately want this on Blu-ray. Wonderfully erotic drama. Fantastic soundtrack as well.

Criterion, Film Arena, Shout Factory, SOMEONE has to release this now cult film on Blu Ray, and steel book the hell out of it!

Seriously, why has it not been released yet??

Can you imagine what Nova Media, those ingenious Korean son of a guns, would do with Crash?? A lenticular slip cover, a beautiful glossy steel book with debossed letering or images, photos, the whole shebang! Sigh!

But, given the metallic nature of the film, a steel book is ESSENTIAL!
