Should have hired more attractive actresses

Neve Campbell is attractive but the others are average at best

reply

I think they were perfect for their roles.

Look, if the girls were all really beautiful, instead of being above-average attractive like they are, the movie wouldn't work.

If they were all knockouts, they wouldn't need magic to get what they want, you know?

reply

Except for Rachel they are all ok. Nothing spectacular but ok.

It wouldn't have worked with 4 Playboy type models.

Fairuza Balk is by far the best looking out of the group. And She was perfectly cast as well.

I do agree with what others have said. If they were too good looking they wouldn’t be outsiders they would be the hot chicks. For example, Christine Taylor, and Robin Tunney could’ve switched roles, they have a similar look, but it would’ve changed the tone of the movie. Fairuza is of course the exception, because her beauty is not traditional.

Christine Taylor was practically perfect to play the bitchy mean girl. Hollywood doesn't always get that type of casting right, but thankfully they did this time, especially because Taylor had hitherto been typecast as the sweet, nice 'girl-next-door'. It made complete sense to cast someone with that vibe as the apparent 'butter wouldn't melt in her mouth' stuck-up bully. A more obvious-looking villain wouldn't have been right for the role.

“Neve Campbell is attractive” 🤮🤮🤮😂😂😂 Right.

reply

Fairuza Balk is unique looking. She might not be a typical beauty but I cant think of a better casting choice than her. Robin Tunney, I never understood though.

reply

I agree with everyone who says it wouldn't work. They were the weirdos Mister.

reply

Nah, they were all well cast, they were misfits and slightly weird looking but all in good shape. Tunney was the only one I’d smash, the others… I wouldn’t kick out of bed.

That said, Balk freaks me out with her massive mouth and excessive teeth, and she’s always a bit skanky and mental. There’s something slutty and diseased about her, especially in The Craft. I’m guessing wide vadge. Sure she’s a lovely person IRL though.

I’ve only just watched the film for the first time. It was mediocre and had ropey effects but great for a mid-90’s flashback.

If I were to rank them (yeah, I know), I'd put Neve first, tie between Rachel and Robin, and Fairuza last.

Fairuza Balk was perfect for this. Her exotic looks work perfectly for the oddball witch.
