Why did Sarah put a love spell on Chris?

How could she still like him after he lied to the whole school about her? I would have hated his guts.

It wasn't a love spell, it was a revenge spell. She wanted Chris to feel as humiliated as she did when he burned her. They all mumble how pathetic he is when they do the first group spell.

They were saying her spell was pathetic. Later on in the movie when they are driving in Nacy's car, Sarah said something like "I'm completely humiliating Chris when all I wanted was for him to like me." It was a love spell. She just wasn't expecting him to become obsessed with her.

Actually yeah, she also mentions Chris by name. I think what i inferred from the group's spells was that they weren't really casting what they were saying. Bonnie said she wanted to be beautiful inside and out but she really only wanted to be beautiful on the outside and became vain and vapid in the process. Rochelle asked to not hate those who hate her, but her spell only served to shame and humiliate Laura which she seemed to take pleasure in (at first anyway). Sarah's was almost identical to the others too "I ask for the ability to love myself more and be loved more by others", if she really meant that then the spell wouldn't have turned out that way. Nancy seemed to be the only honest one and appeared to control her spell herself, just like she asked for (power itself).
