When he asks that crew who witness the helicopter crashing they say a bomb came and saved them it was a bomb similar to the explosion in apocalypse now i think its called an 8 bomb is that what its called? Several bombs explode setting a long pathway of fire and explosions going off simulataneously. It gets dropped from the plane or chopper.
shareIf you're referring to the "bomb" Meg Ryan's helicopter dropped, it was an extra fuel tank they dumped and shot with a flare gun. The bombs the A-10 dropped on Meg Ryan and both helicopters at the end of the battle were napalm (movie goof, we stopped using napalm prior to Desert Storm).
shareWhat you heard as "8 bomb" was most likely "napalm"... an incendiary explosive. Contrary to what the other poster wrote, incendiary explosives were used during the Gulf War. Though now in the 21st century modern improved incendiaries have replaced napalm, they are still often referred to as napalm. The US did not prohibt the use of napalm during the Gulf War... just the use of napalm on targets in civilian areas.
